Brazilian Soapstone 9"x 6 ¼"x 7" 10/07/2006
I found the perfect greenish brown stone to carve an old tortoise. The face reminded me of an elderly person, one that had done a lot and was telling the younger ones stories of his life. I decided to carve scenes on his shell telling about different times in his life, thus him saying "I Remember When….."
